Where I went in Naples & Marco Island

March 1, 2017

Here's to an amazing and spontaneous trip to Florida last week to see my wonderful parents. A few weeks back I became decently sick at school ( all better now thank goodness ). I was feeling out of it and my parents were my support system. We got talking, looking at my schedule ( sooo happy for a senior schedule ) and realized it was more than possible for me to be able to make the trip to see them. It all kind of fell together and was right when I needed it.

We went to some pretty amazing places so I wanted to share with you where we went and what we did. So if you're ever in the area you can check out what places interest YOU.

Shops of Olde Marco

This area is stunning, but I might be biased because I'm a sucker for pastels. There were colorful tarps hanging from trees, cute shops and restaurants tucked away, and every spot made for a perfect photo ( hello Instagram lovers ).

Petit Soleil

Such a perfect spot for lunch. This was my view from where I was sitting and also my delicious salmon avocado salad.

Bella Dolce Gelateria

This made for a perfect pit stop after lunch for some dessert. I opted for a blueberry and chocolate combo... YUM. I love mixing fruity flavors with chocolate. Given the option I will always pick gelato over ice cream. Why??

Well to me, it tastes better but I also just found out that gelato is healthier than ice cream ( only slightly, but it still counts ). Ice cream uses more heavy cream while gelato uses less cream and more milk; making it contain less fat than ice cream.

In that case I'll have three scoops please.

Naples Bay Resort

This place was unreal. I still can't get over the views. I got out of the car and literally said, "Wow" when I saw what this place looked like. I almost felt like I was back in Europe with the colorful buildings tied to the water.

 Bonefish Grill

We sat outside for dinner, along the water and just stared out at the beautiful scenery. Not to mention the seafood was five star ( I don't know if it actually is but it was in my book ha ). I went for the classic shrimp and scallop combo but there were still SO many things on the menu I wanted to try.

Definitely recommend going here if you're in the mood for great food with great views.

Shops at Eagle Creek in South Naples

Who doesn't love a good shopping area? But it's even better when it comes with an amazing burger place.

BurgerFi

It reminded me a lot of In-N-Out. If you want a really great burger and fries, go here. Plus, how cool is it that they have their logo stamped on the buns?!

Tropical Smoothie Café

I wish I would've gotten a picture of this place or of my smoothie but just trust me when I say the smoothies are GOOD. I added an extra shot of Vitamin C and B12 to mine ( insert heart eye emoji ). Any place that lets me add extra shots of health is my thing.

Stan's Idle Hour Resturant

Genuinely good food. I think I had the best clam chowder ever. Plus, the clam strips and sweet potato fries were great. The food wasn't even the best part though; it was the atmosphere.

We were sitting nearly right on the water, with birds flying around, and we dropped our crackers in the water watched the Catfish swim up and eat.

It's a perfect waterfront seafood restaurant with a festive vibe. I also took it upon myself to walk along the piers on the water.

South beach - Marco Island

Such a beautiful public beach. Not to mention the walkway leading out to the beach was ridiculously pretty too. We stayed for a few hours, left to eat dinner, then came back to watch the sunset.

Marco Walk Plaza

Cute little square with plenty of shops and place to eat.

Nacho Mama's

If you're in the mood for good Mexican food, this is the place to go.

Dolce Mare

I didn't take any pictures of my gelato the second time around but Dolce Mare was the cutest chocolate and gelato shop.

Third Street South Naples Farmers Market

Spent my last morning waking up extra early so I could go to the Farmer's Market before catching a flight back to Purdue. It was well worth it. I was super hungry when we got there so the acaí bowl was much needed. The rest of our time was spent enjoying the warm weather and scenery. Also, at the veggie stand, I don't think I've ever seen carrots that big in my life.

It was hard to say goodbye, but I feel so blessed and thankful to have had last week to spend with my parents and of course my perfect princess of a puppy.

Never take time with the ones you love for granted and if you ever get the opportunity to travel, take it.

+ you can check out my swimwear looks and shop them here.

See you again in 10 days Florida : )
