New York Fashion Week F/W '18 Outfit Recap

If you want to see what I was up to during NYFW - I wrote a recap about all the fashion shows I attended and put together a fun little vlog too!

While planning outfits for this trip, my main theme was "how to be stylish and not be freezing" HA.

I've grown up in the midwest so I guess you could say I'm used to the cold, but I'm still pretty sensitive to it. My fingers and toes will go completely numb and turn white. Winter is my least favorite season for this reason and when I'm outside in the winter, I'm typically an UGG boots, winter coat and blanket scarf kinda girl; which is not exactly fashion week material.

SO I had to get a little creative with my looks, but my 'go-to' ended up being a bodysuit and high-waisted denim paired with suede heeled booties and some sort of faux fur coat ( because it holds in the warmth super well ). I also love an occasional leather mini skirt or leather jacket ( which I wore on the warmer days ).

Take a look a my favorite fashion week outfits :

I've already discussed my 6 plane flights essentials, but let's break down my ideal travel outfit, which is all about being cute and comfy.

The last thing I want to be is uncomfortable while I'm on a tiny airplane seat for a few hours. I opted for some simple white sneaks, a black bodysuit and black leggings. My giant fluffy white coat worked as a pillow / blanket on the plane and was NEEDED when I landed in the city.

My Michael Kors Jet Set tote bag is absolutely perfect for traveling ( I also use it every day ) because it fits my laptop, chargers, reading material, travel documents and everything else I need perfectly.

I fell in love with this Free People 'Breaking Hearts' bodysuit while I was doing some Cyber Monday shopping over the holidays. I mean, the lace / sheer detail in the front, along with the gold metal heart in the back, was just so unique that I knew I had to have it. I paired it with a classic black leather jacket with faux fur ( which added warmth and style ).

I wanted more of a 90s feel so I added vintage high-waisted Gap jeans and a vintage Coach bag. Then I made the look more modern with suede block heel booties and a black & gold belt to accessorize.

Free People is my jam and it's where I also got this purple leather mini. I love to bring color into my looks, especially in winter because it helps make gloomier pictures pop! I added a bright faux fur as well, with a simple black bodysuit. Also, my vintage coach bag fit everything I needed so well, that I carried it throughout many of my fashion week looks.

Here's that coat again! If you don't have yourself a giant white fluffy coat, I greatly recommend you get one. For this look, I went simplistic with nude and beige tones and gold / black accessories. Plus, you probably know I'm obsessed with Silver Jeans so of course that's what I'm wearing!

I took a summery romper and 'winterized it' by adding black tights, booties and a fun faux fur!

This shoot in Times Square was super fun! Again, I went for the bodysuit, denim and faux fur combo but instead of classic black booties, I went for grey lace up booties to give this look a little something extra.

This look is something I wouldn't typically go for and it ended up being my absolute favorite look for fashion week.

I was super skeptical of the 'Baker Boy' hat until I put it on and feel in love. Can't knock a trend 'til you try it! Plus, overalls are now my new obsession. This exact pair is sold out online BUT I linked tons of super cute, similar and affordable pairs for you to shop!
